Team lead / Senior Software Engineer (Non-Utility)

Position: Senior Software Engineer (Transportation/Public transport)

 

We are looking for someone wanting to join a 3 person team that we hope to turn into a 4. Our day to day work consists of mostly Kotlin programming with a dash of ops. Day to day we analyze and implement feature requests and bug fixes for the existing codebase. But, we also implement new services and provide third line support for our customer within public transport.

 

We are looking for someone who is able to help us day to day with coding, but who could also see themselves helping with longer term planning and prioritization together with our client.

 

Responsibilities

  • Designing distributed solutions with JVM based programming languages on containerized platforms
  • Implement and build the designed solutions for our customers
  • Delivery of reliable services to our valued customers
  • Run and manage regular meetings, stand-ups, retrospectives etc. with the team, aka Scrum-master
  • Ensure that the development backlog is prioritised and stacked in the optimal order for developers to be effective
  • Anchor decisions and scope with Product Owner/Client
  • Transform high-level requirements and user stories into development concrete tasks in Jira
  • Be responsible for onboarding of new team members
  • Conduct one-to-one meetings with the team-members on a regular basis to provide mutual feedback, and progression review (medarbeidersamtale) annually

  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or similar technical field or equivalent work experience
  • Strong programming skills within the Java or Kotlin programming language and related frameworks
  • Experience with agile development methodology and test-driven development
  • Experience developing highly scalable and robust backend services in a cloud environment
  • Familiar with Git, Confluence, Jira, Nexus, Maven, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Experience within one or more of the following: Kotlin, Spring, Google Cloud Platform, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, Web Services, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Docker
  • Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment systems
