Network strategy and Planning manager

As the leading Electric Vehicle Charge Point Operator in the Nordics, Recharge has been at the forefront of developing a network of chargers to satisfy the fast-growing population of Electric vehicles in the region.  As the network grows our ambition is to be easy to find, easy to use and always on and to have chargers to suit all public access needs. Recharge is committed to investing heavily over the coming years to achieve this.

As one of the most used networks on the planet, we are looking to build a world class capability in selecting sites and in deploying the right charging infrastructure across the Nordic geography. This requires a good understanding of customer habits and needs (some as yet undefined) as well as charger behaviours, as well as a highly data-driven approach which takes into account all available information. The optimum network plan is underpinned by strategic insight to ensure solutions are future-proofed.

To lead this effort, we have created a new senior role in Recharge: The Network Strategy and Planning Manager, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer. This role will lead the design and development of our network strategy and provide the tools against which to judge our charge point investment opportunities and track the performance of our network once deployed to continuously optimise performance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of key inputs impacting network design and optimisation (e.g. traffic data, points of interest, usage patterns of existing network, demographic data, EV sales etc etc)
• Source and manage third party solutions providers to drive optimisation
• Understand key geographic issues across the Nordics including building a strong insight into present and future traffic and population movements
• Develop an overall strategy for optimal network deployment and build investment decision tools to support business decision making
• Represent the Network strategy at senior forums internally and externally to ensure company wide engagement and support external engagements with fact base.
• Coordinate across Sales to ensure partner strategy reflects customer network needs and agreed segmentation
• Input to product strategy and planning to ensure product delivery is consistent with network needs and insights

• Strategy development and engagement
• Strong analytical skillset applied both conceptually and in practice 
• Customer focus and understanding of consumer behaviour
• Data processing skills across multi-platform environments
• Building strong relationships internally and externally to leverage available capability. Ability to represent Recharge in senior external forums
• Presentation skills – turning data into clear information and selling a compelling case for change
• Network planning and analysis skills preferred 
• Strong intellect 
• Commercial and business model understanding

Key qualifications:

• Track record of developing new to business insights from data and of gaining effective implementation
• Managing third party agencies/solutions providers
• Network planning experience 
• Network strategy experience  
• Retail and or franchise sector experience
• Real estate or property sector experience 
• You are a team player with an exceptional drive and a proven ability to deliver value.
• You have a Master’s degree in Finance/Business Economics/Engineering or equivalent
• Excellent skills in a Nordic language and English.
