Junior Shipping Analyst

Steem1960 Shipbrokers AS is a well renowned international shipbroking firm with offices in Oslo, Bergen, Houston, and Singapore. Our core expertise lies in chartering, sale/purchase/new building/projects, and research. We specialize in the Gas, Liquid Chemicals, and Clean Petroleum Products segments of the shipping industry. 

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Junior Shipping Analyst to join our Oslo team. This is a unique opportunity to learn and be a part of the best in shipbroking. An analyst’s tasks:

• Maintaining and updating databases.

• Assist the senior analysts in producing on-demand reports and case studies.

• Preparing market presentations.

• Collecting and structuring relevant information from the brokers and other market sources

• Creating new creative tools and reports together with the brokers and the senior team members.

• Keep a broad picture of the development in our core market segments.

Qualifications

• Master or bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, preferably but not limited to Economics, Shipping, Finance, or equivalent.

• Comfortable working with structured and quantitative data.

• Interest in economics, commodity markets and shipping. 

• Excellent communication skills with proficiency in written and spoken English.

• Solid skills in Excel and PowerPoint 

• Experience in the shipping or commodities markets can compensate for academical requirements.
